A Lawful Development Certificate has been approved for the continued use of a Listed Manor House in Bedfordshire as a wedding and events venue.
The Grade 2 Listed Manor House had been in a mixed use for Private Residential and as a Wedding and Exclusive Hire events venue in excess of ten years and was therefore immune from Enforcement Action and hence Lawful.
Evidence of the types of events which had taken place together with a Statutory Declaration from the owner were submitted to the Local Planning Authority.
The Council concluded that the necessary evidence had been submitted to confirm, on the balance of probability, the continuing use of the property for a period in excess of ten years prior to the date of the application. The use was therefore immune from enforcement action by reason of the time limits set out at S171B of the 1990 Act.
