A garden extension which occurred over ten years ago has been confirmed as lawful.  A Lawful Development Certificate has been granted to confirm the residential use of the garden extension.

The applicants had included additional land within their residential curtilage and used it for domestic residential purposes in excess of ten years without attracting any complaints leading to a Planning Enforcement Notice.

Sufficient evidence including contemporary photos and Ordnance Survey mapping was submitted to demonstrate to the local planning authority that the garden extension had been in use for more than ten years.
