The Central Bedfordshire Local Plan was submitted to the government for examination in April 2018.

Two Inspectors appointed to examine the Local Plan held hearing sessions between 21 May and 25 July 2019 and 8 December and 18 December 2020.

The Inspectors have now published their Final Report which can be viewed here.

Overall, the Inspectors have concluded that with the recommended modifications the Plan satisfies the requirements of Section 20(5) of the 2004 Act and meets the criteria for soundness in the Framework.

Central Bedfordshire reported to Executive and Full Council on 22 July and the plan has now been adopted.

The Local Plan is now available on the Council’s website and carries full weight in the determination of planning applications.
